Standard The keen engineer bot

Updates (27.07.2010)


Bots
  • Update:
    Engineers have their infinite metal removed. They have to collect metal instead, i.e. go to dispensers or collect ammunition. They even collect metal from scrap scattered around the map.
  • Update:
    Engineers upgrade the sentries and dispensers by other teammates.
  • Update:
    Is a sentry or a dispenser being sapped, all engineer bots try to destroy the sapper.
  • Update:
    The build-sequence was changed. Dispensers are on the first order, followed by teleporter-entrances, sentries and the teleporter-exit. There's a 50% chance that the teleporter-exit is on the second order.
  • Update:
    The priorities for the engineer are now: Destroy sapper, upgrade building, collect metal, build building.
  • Update:
    The bots' aiming is "improved" now. Their aiming seems more fluent like that of a human player.
  • Update:
    The minimal engineer bot count on Non-attack-defend-maps is increased from 2 to 4.
  • Update:
    Bots can retreat now if the waypoints are being generated randomly and if they try to cap control points.
  • Update:
    If an engineer bot dies, he stays as engineer if he has at least one building left. Previously, only sentries counted as buildings.
  • Update:
    To fake human behavior very well, bots run a bit askew. The effect is increased in comparison to previous behavior.
  • Fix:
    Bots only could go to heal themselves when they weren't logged in. Logged in bots could only stare at medikits. Such a shame!
  • Fix:
    If two waypoints were placed sequentially that were telling the bot to jump, he didn't understand that (duh!) and jumped on the place, as desperate as he was.
  • Fix:
    The pyro bots' brains were damaged from their heat so badly that they didn't know which waypoints to use, if these were generated randomly. Instead, they chose to gaze at their teammates like buffoons (don't we know that already?).
  • Fix:
    The bots' acritochromacy (for the non-medics: color blindness) was corrected. When retreating, they don't run at enemies now. If a bot engages with enemies solely, he retreats correctly to find teammates and fight as a group.
  • Fix:
    If a demoman bot placed stickies, he was actually very uncreative at finding good placement points. He placed all stickies on the same spot. Scottish folk, you know. Just drinking and not thinking. My tip: Drop the drink, play and think!
  • Fix:
    If a spy bot has placed a sapper, he was thinking very un-gentlemannely and dropped his disguise, even though there were about OVER 9000 other sentries waiting to eviscerate him. What a blind goon!
  • Fix:
    The generation of random numbers in the bot engine was repaired. The determination of the line of fire is now working correctly.
  • Fix:
    If bots didn't get orders from the bot engine, they resetted their point of view.
  • Fix:
    When medic bots were shooting with the syringe gun (or with the blutsauger) at enemies, they were thinking it was a teammate and stood steadily on their spot.

General
  • Update:
    A plugin was added in CTF maps that enables the payload-glow for the players carrying the intelligence. Now, players carrying the intelligence can be seen through walls.

Thanks for the translate :)
I don´t think tF realize how popular his servers are. Many non germans play here and have premium too.
So, more english please. It doesn´t have to be perfect, just good enough so we can understand.
If I use googletranslate from german to danish/english, I often can´t understand a word.

Heh, now there are 3 engineerbots, trying to repair my 4 minisentryguns. Only they can´t, so they just keep trying and trying.... till they are killed XD

tFs Homepage (Saigns) bases on a german community and he only made this homepage for german visitors. He said one time that the non german speakers have to manage without translations. So the translations at buying premium are the advances you got but the forum and chat is just for german speakers

(And why do I always see the Demoman as an Irishman? Probably because he's drinking so much. Well, I corrected my mistake)

Of course you can, but i answered OliMic who wants more english But he hasn't to expect more english by tF or some others :) If you translate it i think they would be happy, but its not a solid service by saigns

Ja, das habe ich auch gemerkt, als ich heute aufgewacht bin:

"Fuck, Demoman is Scottish!"

Aber ich finde immer noch, dass er als Ire besser karikiert wäre. Es heißt doch immer, dass Iren so oft besoffen sind.
